America was founded over two hundred years ago, and the Constitution was applicable for the people of that time. However, as people of the twenty-first century, we need to amend the Constitution as well as Congress to fit the needs of Modern Day America.
The Second Amendment: We believe that the Constitution should be amended and the second amendment should be removed. The second Amendment, which protects the people's right to bear arms, should be removed from the Constitution because there is no longer a need for private citizens to have possession of fire-arms in their homes. Because we live in a more modern society where most people live in a neighborhood, city, or other collective institute, there is no reason that people should have the need to bear arms. By keeping this amendment, the government allows the citizens to abuse this right and obtain guns and weapons that are not needed. Furthermore, there is no longer a safety provision surrounding this topic. The people of America no longer need to protect themselves from armies or militias within their neighborhoods. This is why we should ratify the Constitution, and strike down the second amendment.
